Irrigation Training for Small Farms

Will cover tips and strategies for planning and designing suitable irrigation systems

Please join us for a vegetable and berry growers meeting on irrigation. Hosted by CCE Allegany County, Allegany County Soil & Water Conservation Service and Natural Resource Conservation Service; the program will be held at Off Duty Inc. located in Belmont, NY on Wednesday, November 20th.

 

 

Open to commercial (sales of any amount), beginning and aspiring growers; the program will cover tips and strategies for planning and designing suitable irrigation systems, plus maintenance and operations issues. In addition we will cover timing of irrigation for maximum plant benefit, how drip irrigation influences the health and marketability of fruits and vegetables, plus how soil management plays an important role in getting the most out of irrigation.

Our Speakers: Steve Reiners is Professor and Chair of the Horticulture Section of Cornell University’s School of Integrative Plant Science and Liz Madison from Empire Drip Supply.

Pre-registration is required. Please RSVP by November 18, 2019. Cost $10 per person.
